Code Geass: Rising 1916

This year mark the 100 Year Anniversary of the Irish Rebellion and to Celebrate, I thought I might draw up a little piece.

Over my life, I have never looked back at the time when the Irish fought the British to have a Free State. But for some reason, I decided to look into it and it is really interesting. But once I got a better understanding of the Events, I started to get a sudden Déjà Vu, like I heard of this before. Not of the Rising itself, but the conflicts, battles and sacrifices. Then I realised that these themes and the event are very similar to an Anime Series called Code Geass. Although its set in Modern Japan and has Giant Robots, the story is still the same. “A Homeland, trying to fight the British Empire for a Free Country”. Part of me wants to believe that the Easter Rising was one of the Inspirations for the Series Story.

And with that being said here is the Piece, Some of Code Geass’s Characters (L-R: Shirley Fenette, Lelouch Lamperouge, C.C, Suzaku Kururugi and Kallen Stadtfeld) but in an Irish Setting.
